Regular Season Round 9: Bank of Taiwan - Yulon Luxgen 84-80

Very significant was Bank of Taiwan's (#2, 16-5) victory against 4th placed Yulon Luxgen (9-11) 84-80. Bank of Taiwan players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. American swingman Zak Irvin (198-1994, college: Michigan) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Ishmael Lane (203-1997, college: NSU) accounted for 12 points and 7 rebounds. Four Bank of Taiwan players scored in double figures. American power forward Torren Jones (206-1994, college: William Penn) came up with a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds and guard Guan-Liang Lu (185-1990) added 15 points respectively for Yulon Luxgen in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Bank of Taiwan. They maintain second place with 16-5 record behind leader Taiwan Beer. Yulon Luxgen at the other side dropped to the third position with 11 games lost. Bank of Taiwan will again play against Yulon Luxgen (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Yulon Luxgen will play against Jeoutai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
