Regular Season Round 50: Ehime OV - Kumamoto V. 76-94

Rather predictable result when first ranked Kumamoto V. (29-15) won against 5th ranked Ehime OV (21-22) in Matsuyama 94-76 on Wednesday. Kumamoto V. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Ehime OV's 44. Kumamoto V. had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) notched 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists to lead the effort and the other American import swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) supported him with 24 points (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Five Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Even 37 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds by American-Filipino forward Eugene Phelps (198-1990, college: LBSU) did not help to save the game for Ehime OV. American-German center Ryan Kriener (208-1998, college: Iowa) added 12 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kumamoto V. have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 29-15 record, which they share with Kagawa FA. Loser Ehime OV keeps the fifth place with 22 games lost. Kumamoto V. will meet Fukuoka R. (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Ehime OV will play against Bambitious N. in Nara and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
