Not a big story in a game when 11th ranked Anibal (1-15) was outscored by second ranked Sagesse (13-2) in Beirut 83-56. Sagesse dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Anibal's 30. Sagesse forced 25 Anibal turnovers and had a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international guard Georges El Beyrouty (193-1999) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds. The former international power forward Jad Bitar (204-1988) helped adding 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. Sagesse's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Bechara Saba responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and Rami Abou Tanos scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Sagesse. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Beirut Club. Anibal lost their seventh game in a row. They stay at the bottom place with 15 games lost. Sagesse's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beirut Beirut Club.
