Regular Season Round 14: Lioneers - Dreamers 74-97
Date: March 19, 2022
Very significant was Dreamers' (#3, 10-6) victory against their close opponent Lioneers (9-8) 97-74. Dreamers made 26-of-32 free shots (81.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Lioneers turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dreamers made 9 blocks. 25 personal fouls committed by Lioneers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international point guard Chun-Chi Lin (180-1998) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and American center Brandon Gilbeck (213-1996, college: W.Illinois) chipped in 11 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks during the contest. Four Dreamers players scored in double figures. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-1992, college: NM State) responded with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds and American Nick Faust (198-1993, college: LBSU) scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Dreamers (10-6) moved-up to second place, which they share with Kings. Lioneers at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Dreamers is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Steelers (#6) in Kaohsiung in the next round. Lioneers will play at home against Steelers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
