Not a big story in a game in Hangzhou where 10th ranked Jilin Tigers (21-16) were defeated by fourth ranked Golden Bulls (27-10) 115-100 on Saturday. Golden Bulls made 27-of-31 free shots (87.1 percent) during the game. Golden Bulls outrebounded Jilin Tigers 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Golden Bulls made 9 blocks. The best player for the winners was the former international Wenbo Lu (193-1997) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds. Forward Zeyi Liu (202-1999) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds. Golden Bulls' coach Weiwei Liu used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Dominique Jones (193-1988, college: S.Florida) who recorded 34 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 5 assists and Yuxing Jiang (193-1995) added 17 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Golden Bulls maintains fourth position with 27-10 record. Loser Jilin Tigers keep the tenth place with 16 games lost. Golden Bulls will meet bottom-ranked Monkey Kings (#20) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Jilin Tigers will play against Eagles (#15) and hope to secure a win.
