Regular Season Round 43: Tochigi Brex - Hokkaido L. 89-98

The game between third ranked Tochigi Brex (27-12) and ninth ranked Hokkaido L. (13-23) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Tochigi Brex was defeated by Hokkaido L. in a tough game in Tochigi 89-98. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tochigi Brex. Hokkaido L. made 16-of-18 free shots (88.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Tochigi Brex 40-25 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American DeMon Brooks (202-1992, college: Davidson) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws). His fellow American import forward Shawn Long (208-1993, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 20 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Josh Scott (208-1993, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Shuhei Kitagawa (185-1985) scored 17 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hokkaido L. maintains ninth place with 13-23 record. Tochigi Brex at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tochigi Brex will play again at home against Hokkaido L. and is hoping to win this game.
