Regular Season Round 42: Ibaraki R. - Hitachi SRT 95-91

There was an upset when higher ranked Hitachi SRT (21-18) lost to tenth ranked Ibaraki R. (9-28) in Mito 91-95 on Wednesday. Ibaraki R. made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 56.5 percentage. Ibaraki R. looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and the other American import Eric Jacobsen (208-1994, college: Arizona St.) supported him with 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ibaraki R. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points, 20 rebounds and 5 assists by American forward James McAdoo (206-1993, college: UNC, agency: Slash Sports) did not help to save the game for Hitachi SRT. International point guard Leo Vendrame (183-1993) added 19 points. Hitachi SRT's coach Tsutomu Isa tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. maintains tenth position with 9-28 record. Hitachi SRT lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 18 games lost. Ibaraki R. will meet at home Niigata A. (#11) in the next round. Hitachi SRT will play against Sea Horses M. (#5) in Kariya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
