Regular Season Round 42: Shinshu BW - San-en NP 69-72

There was a surprise result when eleventh ranked San-en NP (7-30) edged higher ranked Shinshu BW (19-20) in Nagano 72-69 on Wednesday. American forward Robert Carter (206-1994, college: Maryland) notched 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Filipino guard Ferdinand Ravena (189-1996) supported him with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Four San-en NP players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 7 rebounds by American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-1995, college: WSU) did not help to save the game for Shinshu BW. His fellow American import center Wayne Marshall (211-1986, college: Temple) added 15 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. San-en NP maintains eleventh position with 7-30 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the sixth place with 20 games lost. San-en NP will meet at home higher ranked Yokohama BC (#8) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Shinshu BW will play against Nagoya DD where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
