Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Champville (8-7) defeated on the road 10th ranked Byblos (2-13) 85-80 on Monday. Champville looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international power forward Marwan Ziadeh (202-1987) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Gabriel Salibi (203, college: Northeastern St.) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Champville players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Mohamed Skaf who recorded 26 points and 9 rebounds and forward William Sawan (201-1998) added 14 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Champville have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place. Byblos at the other side keep the tenth position with 13 games lost. Champville will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Byblos will play against the league's second-placed Al Riyadi (#2) in Beirut and hope to secure a win.
