An interesting game for Cathay Life (7-1) which played against second-ranked Taiyuan Textile (6-2). First ranked Cathay Life managed to get a 13-point victory 70-57. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Taiyuan Textile. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Cathay Life players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Taiyuan Textile's players. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Wei-An Chen (177-1995) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and the former international swingman Yu-Ting Lin (179-1994) who added 10 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. International center Tieh Lin (182-1999) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 17 rebounds and the former international forward Ching Cho (172-1997) scored 9 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cathay Life have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 7-1 record. Taiyuan Textile at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Cathay Life will play against Taipower (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Taiyuan Textile will play against Chunghwa Telecom and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
