We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 7th ranked Toyama G. (16-23) was defeated on the road by eighth ranked Osaka E. (15-20) 76-66 on Wednesday. Osaka E. made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game. American guard DJ Newbill (193-1992, college: Penn St.) stepped up and scored 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international forward Ira Brown (193-1982, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. American forward Brice Johnson (206-1994, college: UNC) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import center Joshua Smith (208-1992, college: Georgetown) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Osaka E. maintains eighth place with 15-20 record. Loser Toyama G. keeps the seventh position with 23 games lost.
