Regular Season Round 8: Rans Pik - NSH 58-46

There was a surprise result when sixth ranked Rans Pik (7-5) won against at home top-ranked NSH (9-2) 58-46 on Monday. The best player for the winners was Jamaican-American Akeem Scott (185-1983, college: High Point) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Center Agus Salim (197) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Shavar Newkirk (183-1996, college: St.Joseph's) produced 31 points and 9 rebounds and Hengki Infandi (180-1994) added 4 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rans Pik have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 7-5 record, which they share with Hangtuah. Loser NSH still keeps top place with two games lost. Rans Pik will meet higher ranked Prawira (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. NSH's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Jakarta Hangtuah.
