Regular Season Round 43: Gifu - Kanazawa 100-71
Date: March 6, 2022
Rather predictable result when eleventh ranked Gifu (13-23) outscored at home bottom-ranked Kanazawa (1-33) 100-71 on Sunday. Gifu shot 62.3 percent from the field and made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. Gifu outrebounded Kanazawa 44-24 including a 36-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Kanazawa's players. 24 personal fouls committed by Kanazawa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Alex Floresca (203-1996, college: San Diego) fired a triple-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 14 assists for the winners. His fellow American import forward Jerrell Wright (204-1991, college: La Salle) chipped in 31 points and 6 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Point guard Yuki Matsuya (170-1998) produced 15 points and guard Takuto Kubo (186-1999) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gifu moved-up to tenth place. Kanazawa lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 33 lost games. Gifu are looking forward to face Yamaguchi (#12) on the road in the next round. Kanazawa will play against Saitama and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
