The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Fubon Braves as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Fubon Braves smashed 5th ranked Pilots in Taipei 99-79. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Pilots. Fubon Braves made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Pilots 57-41 including a 42-31 advantage in defensive rebounds. Fubon Braves looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Maltese center Samuel Deguara (230-1991) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 17 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American forward Michael Singletary (198-1988, college: Texas Tech) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Singletary is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Devin Robinson (203-1995, college: Florida) who recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Jordan Tolbert (200-1992, college: SMU) added 22 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Pilots at the other side keep the fifth place with eight games lost. Pilots will play next round against strong Kings trying to get back on the winning streak. Fubon Braves will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Pilots in Taoyuan.
