Regular Season Round 44: Kagawa FA - Kumamoto V. 87-100

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Takamatsu. Third ranked Kumamoto V. faced second-ranked Kagawa FA. Guests from Kumamoto (24-15) defeated host Kagawa FA (24-15) 100-87. Kumamoto V. shot 62.3 percent from the field. Kumamoto V. outrebounded Kagawa FA 37-20 including a 30-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Kumamoto V. especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Hamilton (201-1990, college: Texas) who scored 31 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all twelve shots !!!). The other American import swingman LJ Peak (196-1996, college: Georgetown, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in 30 points and 6 rebounds (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-1987, college: Georgia) produced 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Takayuki Kodama (166-1992) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Kumamoto V. moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Kagawa FA. Kagawa FA lost fifth consecutive game. Kumamoto V. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kagawa FA will play again at home against the league's second-placed Kumamoto V. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
