Regular Season Round 39: Shiga L-Stars - Ryukyu GK 84-98

B1 League top team - Ryukyu GK (29-3) managed to deliver another win on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Shiga L-Stars (10-21) 98-84. Ryukyu GK made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Shiga L-Stars turnovers and outrebounded them 52-23 including a 22-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Ryukyu GK looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Dwayne Evans (201-1992, college: St.Louis, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). His fellow American import power forward Jack Cooley (206-1991, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Novar Gadson (201-1989, college: Rider) who recorded 28 points and 5 rebounds and guard Kiefer Isaac Ravena (181-1993) added 17 points and 9 assists respectively. Five Ryukyu GK and four Shiga L-Stars players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the nineteenth consecutive win for Ryukyu GK. They maintain first place with 29-3 record. Shiga L-Stars lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 21 games lost. Ryukyu GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shiga L-Stars will play again against the league's leader Ryukyu GK (#1) and hope to secure a win.
