Regular Season Round 39: Tochigi Brex - Yokohama BC 98-73
Date: March 5, 2022
There was no surprise when 8th ranked Yokohama BC (13-23) was outplayed on the road by third ranked Tochigi Brex (25-10) 98-73 on Saturday. Tochigi Brex made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Tochigi Brex outrebounded Yokohama BC 38-22 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American power forward Josh Scott (208-1993, college: Colorado, agency: Pensack Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Tongan-New Zealand Isaac Fotu (203-1993, college: Hawaii) chipped in 23 points and 8 rebounds. Four Tochigi Brex players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Czech Patrik Auda (204-1989, college: Seton Hall, agency: Octagon Europe) who recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds and guard Yuki Kawamura (169-2001) added 11 points and 11 assists respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tochigi Brex. They maintain third place with 25-10 record behind leader Ryukyu GK. Yokohama BC lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 23 games lost. Tochigi Brex will again meet at home Yokohama BC (#8) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Yokohama BC will have a break next round.
