Second Stage Round 8: Parsa - Khouzestan 90-79

Date: March 3, 2022
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Mashhad. Third ranked Parsa faced one of their biggest challengers Khouzestan. Host Parsa (9-8) defeated guests from Ahvaz (3-14) 90-79. It was a great shooting night for Parsa especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Brian Starr (190-1996, college: Towson) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 6 assists and 7 steals. The former international forward Navid Khajezadeh (196-1996) contributed with 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Starr is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Parsa's coach Srdjan Jovanovic allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Arash Sabeti replied with 22 points and Serbian center Dragan Tubak (216-1987, agency: BIG) added 9 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Khouzestan. Four Khouzestan players scored in double figures. Parsa have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 9-8 record having five points less than leader Gorgan. Khouzestan lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Parsa will play against league's second-placed Kerman at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Khouzestan will play against the league's leader Mahram and hopes to get back on the winning track.
