Regular Season Round 33: Ningbo R. - Fujian S. 109-106

A very close game took place in Ningbo between Rockets and Sturgeons. Nineteenth ranked Rockets (3-27) got a very close home victory over 17th ranked Sturgeons (7-23). Rockets managed to escape with a 3-point win 109-106 on Wednesday evening. Rockets looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The best player for the winners was Serbian center Vladimir Stimac (210-1987) who had a double-double by scoring 30 points, 23 rebounds and 6 assists. Biao Zhang (201-1990) chipped in 23 points. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Trae Golden (189-1991, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Network Sports International) who recorded 42 points (!!!), 8 rebounds and 8 assists and the former international Linjian Chen (197-1993) added 20 points (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Rockets maintains nineteenth place with 3-27 record. Sturgeons lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Rockets will meet higher ranked Aviators (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sturgeons will play against Royal Fighters (#12) and hope to secure a win.
