Everything went according to plan in Mito where fifth ranked Akita NH (22-12) beat 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (8-28) 76-70 on Wednesday. Akita NH made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Jordan Glynn (200-1989, college: SF Austin) who scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Ryuto Yasuoka (188-1995) chipped in 20 points. Akita NH's coach Kenzo Maeda used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American Eric Jacobsen (208-1994, college: Arizona St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and the other American import forward Chehales Tapscott (195-1990, college: Portland St.) added 21 points and 11 rebounds respectively. The victory was the third consecutive win for Akita NH. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. keeps the tenth position with 28 games lost. They share it with Kyoto H.. Akita NH will meet at home Niigata A. (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Ibaraki R. will play against Kyoto H. and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
