Leading Flying Leopards (25-5) recorded its fifth loss in Yingkou. Hosts were rolled over by sixteenth ranked Eagles (10-20) 108-85. Eagles players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Flying Leopards' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Flying Leopards were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Dakari Johnson (213-1995, college: Kentucky) nailed a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Dezmine Wells (196-1992, college: Maryland) accounted for 27 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Kyle Fogg (191-1990, college: Arizona) came up with 27 points and 6 rebounds (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!) and the former international point guard Jiwei Zhao (184-1995) added 20 points, 5 assists and 6 steals respectively for Flying Leopards in the defeat. Four Flying Leopards players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eagles moved-up to fifteenth place. Flying Leopards at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. They share it with Shanghai S.. Eagles will play against higher ranked Loongs (#9) in Taiyuan in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Flying Leopards will play at home against the league's leader Sharks (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
