Regular Season Round 40: Shizuoka - Shinagawa 105-72
Date: February 26, 2022
Very predictable result when sixth ranked Shizuoka (20-9) smashed at home 14th ranked Shinagawa (3-30) 105-72 on Saturday. Shizuoka dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Shinagawa's 36 and made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Shinagawa 38-21 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shizuoka looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Ryan Stephan (208-1994, college: CMU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-1996, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) who added 17 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Four Shizuoka players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center C.J. Gettys (213-1994, college: Rutgers, agency: Haylett Sports) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists and point guard Kunitatsu Ogata (179-1997) scored 14 points and 4 steals. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Shizuoka moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted Shinagawa keeps the fourteenth position with 30 games lost. Shizuoka are again looking forward to face Shinagawa (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shinagawa will have a break next round.
