Regular Season Round 9: Rain or Shine - Meralco Bolts 88-93

Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Manila: Meralco Bolts (#6) and Rain or Shine (#9). Rain or Shine was defeated at home 88-93 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The best player for the winners was Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-1989, college: Texas St., agency: 011 Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Raymond Almazan (206-1989) chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Henry Walker (198-1987, college: Kansas St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Javee Mocon (193-1995) added 7 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. Four Rain or Shine players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Meralco Bolts (4-1) moved-up to fourth place. Loser Rain or Shine keeps the ninth position with five games lost.
