Regular Season Round 40: Fukushima - Yamagata 90-77

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Fukushima (26-11) defeated at home 5th ranked Yamagata (15-20) 90-77. Fukushima dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Yamagata's 32. Fukushima had a 33-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 29 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Bulgarian center Jason Washburn (213-1990, college: Utah, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Point guard Kanta Mizuno (182-1998) contributed with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American center Kenny Lawson (207-1988, college: Creighton) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Jawad Williams (204-1983, college: UNC) added 20 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Yamagata. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Fukushima maintains second position with 26-11 record having two points less than leader Kagawa FA. Yamagata lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 20 games lost. Fukushima will again play against Yamagata (#5) at home in the next round. Yamagata will have a break next round.
