Regular Season Round 8: SM Beermen - TNT Tropang 81-96

We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when eighth ranked TNT Ka Tropa (4-4) beat 7th ranked SM Beermen (3-3) in Manila 96-81 on Wednesday. TNT Ka Tropa looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when TNT Ka Tropa made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American-Mexican forward Aaron Fuller (198-1989, college: USC, agency: Haylett Sports) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points, 26 rebounds and 6 blocks and naturalized American guard Michael Williams (188-1991, college: CS Fullerton) supported him with 30 points and 4 assists. Even a double-double of 22 points and 14 rebounds by center June Mar Fajardo (210-1989) did not help to save the game for SM Beermen. Point guard Terrence Romeo (180-1992) added 18 points for the hosts. Four SM Beermen players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Loser SM Beermen keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Ginebra Kings. TNT Ka Tropa will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SM Beermen's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manila to the arena Ginebra Kings.
