Regular Season Round 9: Kings - Lioneers 97-92

Sixth defeat of league's leader Lioneers (7-6) against fourth ranked Kings (6-4) 97-92 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Lioneers. Kings made 30-of-39 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lioneers 60-37 including a 43-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. 28 personal fouls committed by Lioneers helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center Thomas Welsh (213-96, college: UCLA) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 22 rebounds. Forward Chris McCullough (208-95, college: Syracuse) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. Five Kings players scored in double figures. Nick Faust (198-93, college: LBSU) answered with 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds and forward Branden Dawson? (200-93, college: Michigan St.) added 20 points and 18 rebounds in the effort for Lioneers. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Kings maintains fourth place with 6-4 record. Lioneers at the other side dropped to the second position with six games lost. They share it with Fubon Braves. They were replaced at the leadership position by Dreamers. Lioneers will play next round against Pilots trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Kings will try to continue on its current victory against fifth ranked Steelers in Kaohsiung.
