No shocking result in a game when third ranked Sendai 89ers (24-12) beat on the road 6th ranked Tokyo Z (5-32) 80-69 on Sunday. They outrebounded Tokyo Z 38-22 including 25 on the defensive glass. Sendai 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American Devin Oliver (204-1992, college: Dayton) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. His fellow American import forward Justin Burrell (207-1988, college: St.John's) accounted for 15 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side. American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-1993, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) came up with 20 points and American center Joshua Crawford (211-1988, college: Indiana St.) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Tokyo Z in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tokyo Z's coach Hugo Lopez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Sendai 89ers. They maintain third place with 24-12 record having five points less than leader Kagawa FA. Tokyo Z lost their thirteenth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 32 games lost. Sendai 89ers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tokyo Z will play against Ehime OV (#5) in Matsuyama and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
