Regular Season Round 37: Kawasaki BT - Gunma CT 73-81

Very important is a home loss of first ranked Kawasaki BT (25-9) against seventh ranked Gunma CT (15-18) on Sunday night. Host Kawasaki BT was defeated by Gunma CT in a tough game in Kanagawa 73-81. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Kawasaki BT. They outrebounded Kawasaki BT 45-30 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Gunma CT players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Justin Keenan (202-89, college: Ferris St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists. Naturalized American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) contributed with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Five Gunma CT players scored in double figures. Gunma CT's coach Thomas Wisman allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The former international power forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) answered with 25 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Ryusei Shinoyama (178-88) added 20 points in the effort for Kawasaki BT. Newly promoted Gunma CT maintains seventh place with 15-18 record. Kawasaki BT at the other side still keeps top position with nine games lost. Gunma CT will play against Shiga L-Stars (#9) at home in the next round. Kawasaki BT will have a break next round.
