Regular Season Round 9: Pilots - Lioneers 80-101

PLeague+ top team - Lioneers (7-6) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Pilots (3-7) in Taoyuan 101-80. They outrebounded Pilots 54-41 including 40 on the defensive glass. Lioneers looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Indian-Canadian center Sim Bhullar (226-92, college: NM State) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and American forward Branden Dawson? (200-93, college: Michigan St.) accounted for 18 points and 13 rebounds. Five Lioneers players scored in double figures. American forward Jordan Tolbert (200-92, college: SMU) came up with 9 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Ta-You Kuan (181-97) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for Pilots in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Lioneers went down to second position due to points difference, which they share with Fubon Braves. Pilots lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Lioneers will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Pilots will play against the league's leader Dreamers (#1) in Changhua and hope to secure a win.
