No shocking result in a game in Manila where ninth ranked Rain or Shine (3-3) defeated bottom-ranked North Port (0-5) 104-90 on Saturday. Rain or Shine looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American swingman Henry Walker (198-87, college: Kansas St.) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. Michael Nieto (188-97) helped adding 21 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Jamel Artis (201-93, college: Pittsburgh) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Kevin Ferrer (194-93) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Rain or Shine moved-up to eighth place. Loser North Port still closes the standings with five games lost. Rain or Shine will meet higher ranked Alaska Aces (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. North Port will play against Meralco Bolts (#4) in Manila and hopes to get finally their first victory.
