Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Doha: Al Gharafa (#6) and Al Shamal (#3). Al Gharafa (5-5) smashed visiting Al Shamal (6-3) by 22 points 88-66. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Al Shamal. They outrebounded Al Shamal 41-28 including 31 on the defensive glass. Al Gharafa players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The former international forward Nedim Muslic (197-98) had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American center Tyler Harris (208-93, college: Auburn, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Harris is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Four Al Gharafa players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Willie Warren (193-89, college: Oklahoma, agency: Interperformances) responded with a triple-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists and Serbian-Montenegrin forward Milko Bjelica (207-84) scored 27 points and 7 rebounds. Defending champion moved-up to fifth place. Al Shamal at the other side dropped to the fourth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
