Regular Season Round 36: Shinshu BW - Kyoto H. 72-51
Date: February 6, 2022
Rather predictable result when sixth ranked Shinshu BW (16-17) rolled over 10th ranked Kyoto H. (7-25) in Nagano 72-51 on Sunday. The winners were led by American forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Yuta Okada (189-98) supported him with 13 points. Even a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) did not help to save the game for Kyoto H.. His fellow American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: SDJ Sports) added 12 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shinshu BW have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 16-17 record. Loser Kyoto H. keeps the tenth place with 25 games lost. Shinshu BW will meet league's leader Kawasaki BT in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Kyoto H. will play against Ibaraki R. (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
