Regular Season Round 34: Kyoto H. - Hiroshima D. 82-80

A very close game took place in Kyoto between Kyoto H. and Hiroshima D.. Tenth ranked Kyoto H. (7-23) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Hiroshima D. (18-14). Kyoto H. managed to escape with a 2-point win 82-80 on Wednesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. Kyoto H. looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American forward Justin Harper (208-89, college: Richmond) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Kazuki Hosokawa (187-97) chipped in 18 points during the contest. At the losing side American forward Nick Mayo (206-97, college: EKU, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Thomas Kennedy (201-87, college: Detroit) scored 15 points and 6 rebounds. Five Hiroshima D. players scored in double figures. Hiroshima D.'s coach Kyle Milling tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kyoto H. have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain tenth position with 7-23 record. Hiroshima D. lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 14 games lost. Kyoto H. will meet higher ranked Shinshu BW (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hiroshima D. will play against Tochigi Brex and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
