Regular Season Round 33: Yamaguchi - Tokyo HT 71-113

Rather predictable result when ninth ranked Tokyo HT (14-12) smashed on the road 12th ranked Yamaguchi (11-21) 113-71. Tokyo HT dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Yamaguchi's 40. They outrebounded Yamaguchi 44-25 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tokyo HT players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. American power forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee, agency: Octagon Europe) nailed a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds for the winning side and guard Hiroya Ogane (180-89) accounted for 18 points. American center Nicholas Evans (210-88, college: S.Indiana) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Robert Sampson (203-92, college: Georgia Tech) added 11 points respectively for Yamaguchi in the defeat. Five Tokyo HT and four Yamaguchi players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Tokyo HT maintains ninth place with 14-12 record. Newly promoted Yamaguchi keeps the twelfth position with 21 games lost. Tokyo HT will play against Gifu (#10) on the road in the next round. Yamaguchi will play against Iwate and hopes to get back on the winning track.
