Regular Season Round 10: Orthodox - Al Jalil 112-77

Leader Orthodox delivered the ninth victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Al Jalil (0-9) 112-77 in Amman. Orthodox dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Al Jalil's 38. Orthodox forced 23 Al Jalil turnovers and outrebounded them 54-37 including 19 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 41 assists comparing to just 23 passes made by Al Jalil's players. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Amin Abuhawwas (190-94, college: Mars Hill) who helped to win the game recording 42 points (!!!), 5 assists and 4 steals. Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-87, college: Cincinnati, agency: BIG) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winners. Abuhawwas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Munir Idais replied with 26 points and power forward Mahmoud Mansour (-87) added 8 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Al Jalil. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Orthodox (9-1) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Al Jalil at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost.
