Sixteenth-ranked Eagles (8-19) made lots of trouble for second ranked Sharks (22-5) in Qingdao on Tuesday. The visitors from Shanghai managed to secure only three-point victory 110-107. However their fans expected much easier game. Sharks looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sharks made 11 blocks. American power forward Noah Vonleh (208-95, college: Indiana, agency: Pensack Sports) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks for the winners. The former international center Zhelin Wang (214-94) chipped in 25 points. American guard Dezmine Wells (196-92, college: Maryland) produced 37 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and the other American import power forward Dakari Johnson (213-95, college: Kentucky) added 18 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Eagles' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Sharks maintains second place with 22-5 record having just two points less than leader Liaoning FL. Eagles lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 19 games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW. Sharks are looking forward to face Guandong Tigers (#5) in Dongguan in the next round. Eagles will play at home against Golden Bulls (#3) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
