Rather expected game when 6th ranked Osaka E. (13-14) lost on the road to third ranked Alvark Tokyo (20-7) 90-77 on Saturday. Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz (205-94, college: Ole Miss) nailed a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and international forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) accounted for 11 points and 9 rebounds. Five Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) came up with 34 points (!!!) and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and the former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) added 9 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Osaka E. in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Alvark Tokyo have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain third place with 20-7 record behind leader Ryukyu GK. Loser Osaka E. keeps the sixth position with 14 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will again meet at home Osaka E. (#6) in the next round. Osaka E. will have a break next round.
