Very important is a road loss of second ranked Sharks (20-5) against sixth ranked Aviators (18-8) on Thursday night. Visiting Sharks were defeated by Aviators in Shenzhen 119-103. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Sharks. Aviators made 23-of-30 charity shots (76.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Sharks turnovers and had a 39-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. Aviators players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Sharks were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. American forward Jared Sullinger (206-92, college: Ohio St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 30 points, 16 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and the former international Xining He (195-97) chipped in 22 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals. The former international swingman Haowen Guo (201-0) responded with 19 points and 7 assists and the former international center Zhelin Wang (214-94) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. Four Aviators and five Sharks players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Aviators have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 18-8 record. Sharks at the other side keep the second position with five games lost. They share it with Zhejiang GB.. Aviators will play against Jiangsu Dragons (#18) in Nanjing in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sharks will play on the road against Golden Bulls (#3) in Hangzhou and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
