Date: January 20, 2022
The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Flying Leopards (22-3) in Yingkou on Thursday night. Hosts were rolled over by fourteenth ranked Flying Tigers (10-15) 109-87. It ended at the same time the ten-game winning streak of Flying Leopards. They outrebounded Flying Leopards 58-33 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Flying Tigers looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. American center Arnett Moultrie (208-90, college: MSU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 19 rebounds. The former international Abudurexiti Abudushalamu (203-96) contributed with 27 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Kyle Fogg (191-90, college: Arizona) answered with 14 points (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and the former international center Hao Fu (208-97) added 15 points in the effort for Flying Leopards. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flying Tigers moved-up to thirteenth place. Flying Leopards at the other side still keep top position with three games lost. Flying Tigers are looking forward to face Rockets (#19) in Ningbo in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Flying Leopards will play on the road against Royal Fighters (#11) in Beijing and are hoping to win this game.
