Regular Season Round 29: Gifu - Nagasaki 75-121

B3 League top team - Nagasaki (26-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed tenth ranked Gifu (10-18) 121-75. Nagasaki shot 61.6 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Gifu's players. American players dominated the game. Forward Matt Bonds (196-95, college: St.Michael's, agency: Duran International) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Jeffrey Gibbs (188-80, college: Otterbein) contributed with 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Nagasaki's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jerrell Wright (204-91, college: La Salle) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Alex Floresca (203-96, college: San Diego) added 13 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Gifu. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Nagasaki have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Newly promoted Nagasaki maintains first place with 26-2 record. Gifu at the other side keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. They share it with Yokohama EX. Nagasaki are looking forward to face Kagoshima (#3) in Renova in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gifu will play at home against Yokohama EX (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
