Regular Season Round 28: Iwate - Shinagawa 85-58
Date: January 15, 2022
No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Iwate (18-10) smashed at home 14th ranked Shinagawa (2-26) 85-58 on Saturday. Iwate dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Shinagawa's 24. Iwate forced 30 Shinagawa turnovers. American Kyle Richardson (200-91, college: Portland St.) fired 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. DR Congolese center Kalongi Patrick (206-99) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Abu Philip (198-97) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Kunitatsu Ogata (179-97) added 8 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iwate moved-up to fourth place. Shinagawa lost twenty second consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the fourteenth position with 26 games lost. Iwate are again looking forward to face Shinagawa (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Shinagawa will have a break next round.
