Regular Season Round 30: Sendai 89ers - Tokyo Z 91-75

There was no surprise when 6th ranked Tokyo Z (5-26) was defeated on the road by third ranked Sendai 89ers (20-10) 91-75 on Sunday. Sendai 89ers looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Justin Burrell (207-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sendai 89ers players scored in double figures. Sendai 89ers' coach Hiroki Fujita used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Haitian forward Marc-Eddy Norelia (203-93, college: FGCU, agency: Duran International) added 19 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Sendai 89ers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukushima. Tokyo Z lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 26 games lost. Sendai 89ers is looking forward to face league's leader FE Nagoya on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tokyo Z will play against Aomori W. (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
