Regular Season Round 6: Pilots - Kings 90-101
Date: January 8, 2022
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Pilots (2-4) lost to third ranked Kings (4-4) 90-101 on Saturday. Kings outrebounded Pilots 53-40 including 40 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American forward Chris McCullough (208-95, college: Syracuse) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Kai-Yen Lee (182-93) supported him with 22 points, 11 assists and 6 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Even a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds by American forward Jordan Tolbert (200-92, college: SMU) did not help to save the game for Pilots. His fellow American import forward Devin Robinson (203-95, college: Florida) added 29 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Despite that victory Kings went down to fourth position due to points difference. Loser Pilots keep the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Steelers. Kings' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Taipei Fubon Braves.
