Regular Season Round 28: Kagawa FA - Sendai 89ers 72-90

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Kagawa FA (20-8) in Takamatsu on Tuesday night. Hosts were defeated by third ranked Sendai 89ers (18-10) 90-72. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Kagawa FA. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Kagawa FA. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sendai 89ers moved-up to second place, which they share with Fukushima. Kagawa FA at the other side still keeps top position with eight games lost. Sendai 89ers is looking forward to face Tokyo Z (#6) at home in the next round. Kagawa FA will play against the league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. (#2) in Hyogo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
