Regular Season Round 28: Kagawa FA - Sendai 89ers 81-70

An interesting game for Kagawa FA (20-8) which hosted in Takamatsu one of their biggest challengers Sendai 89ers (18-10). First ranked Kagawa FA managed to get a 11-point victory 81-70. Kagawa FA looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) supported him with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Woodbury is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Kagawa FA players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds by American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) did not help to save the game for Sendai 89ers. His fellow American import center Jerome Meyinsse (208-88, college: Virginia) added 14 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Kagawa FA have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 20-8 record. Loser Sendai 89ers dropped to the second place with ten games lost. They share the position with Fukushima. Kagawa FA will meet league's second-placed Nishinomiya S. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sendai 89ers will play against Tokyo Z and hope to secure a win.
