Leader Chiba Jets recorded the twentieth victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Shinshu BW (10-16) 89-74. Chiba Jets made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The game was dominated by American players. Forward John Mooney (206-98, college: Notre Dame, agency: Pensack Sports) stepped up and scored 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and guard Christopher Smith (193-94, college: Utah St.) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Chiba Jets players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Josh Hawkinson (208-95, college: WSU) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Chiba Jets. Defending champion maintains first place with 20-6 record. Loser Shinshu BW keeps the seventh position with 16 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
