Regular Season Round 25: Ibaraki R. - Alvark Tokyo 65-81

Everything went according to plan in Mito where third ranked Alvark Tokyo (18-7) won against 10th ranked Ibaraki R. (5-20) 81-65 on Sunday. They outrebounded Ibaraki R. 45-25 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Alvark Tokyo looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Taiki Osakabe (187-98) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and international forward Ryan Rossiter (204-89, college: Siena) chipped in 8 points and 12 rebounds. Four Alvark Tokyo players scored in double figures. At the losing side Canadian-Italian power forward Marc Trasolini (206-90, college: Santa Clara) responded with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Kohei Fukuzawa (177-93) scored 21 points (made all of his seven free throws). Ibaraki R.'s coach Richard Glesmann rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Alvark Tokyo. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Nagoya DD. Newly promoted Ibaraki R. keeps the tenth position with 20 games lost. Alvark Tokyo will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ibaraki R. will play again against Alvark Tokyo (#3) and hope to secure a win.
