Regular Season Round 25: Yokohama BC - Osaka E. 92-67

There was a minor upset when 6th ranked Osaka E. (12-13) was outplayed on the road by ninth ranked Yokohama BC (9-16) 92-67 on Sunday. Yokohama BC dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Osaka E.'s 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Czech Patrik Auda (204-89, college: Seton Hall) stepped up and scored 23 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and guard Yuki Kawamura (169-1) chipped in 17 points and 9 assists. At the losing side the former international forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga) responded with 6 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and American guard DJ Newbill (193-92, college: Penn St.) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Yokohama BC moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Shiga L-Stars. Loser Osaka E. keeps the sixth position with 13 games lost. Yokohama BC will again meet at home higher ranked Osaka E. (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka E. will have a break next round.
