Regular Season Round 25: Shimane SM - Nagoya DD 76-91

The biggest surprise of round 25 in B1 League was guest Nagoya DD's (#2) easy road victory over Shimane SM (#3) 91-76 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shimane SM. Nagoya DD dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Shimane SM's 32. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American power forward Scott Eatherton (206-91, college: Northeastern, agency: BeoBasket) fired 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. American-Filipino guard Bobby Ray Parks (193-93, agency: BIG) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Nagoya DD players scored in double figures. Nagoya DD's coach Shawn Dennis used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Reid Travis (203-95, college: Kentucky, agency: Pensack Sports) produced 21 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import forward Perrin Buford (198-94, college: MTSU, agency: Pensack Sports) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Nagoya DD (18-7) have an impressive series of nine victories in a row. They maintain second place having four points less than leader Chiba Jets, which they share with Alvark Tokyo. Shimane SM at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Nagoya DD will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Shimane SM will play again at home against the league's second-placed Nagoya DD and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
