Regular Season Round 24: Yokohama EX - Shizuoka 88-86

There was an upset in Tokyo where higher ranked Shizuoka (16-7) was edged by twelfth ranked Yokohama EX (6-17) 88-86 on Saturday. Yokohama EX looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was Canadian forward Mamadou Gueye (201-93, college: Alberta) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Shota Osaki (192-98) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. Four Yokohama EX players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Beninese power forward Muusa Dama (207-96, college: EIU, agency: Blacktop Management) who recorded 24 points and 9 rebounds and American center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: CMU) added 18 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Yokohama EX moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Yamaguchi. Loser Shizuoka keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Yokohama EX will again meet at home higher ranked Shizuoka (#4) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Shizuoka will have a break next round.
